You are not that man anymore.
Transformation happens through moments of unplanned events that arise from individual moments of preparation.
Let me explain.
Transformation happens through times of unseen growth that eventually show up in ways of grace, mercy, love and forgiveness, a sound mind and strength…in humility - during much needed times of leading into things you may have been avoiding or just not sure of what to do.
One day you are driving and someone cuts you off and you do not react…you respond in freedom. How? With patience, not tightening up or using language that only you say out loud in your car.
One day you are in an argument and instead of reacting to and taking on their anger or anxiety…you respond in freedom. How? You have peace and can stay level headed with guiding the conversation.
You are leading instead of reacting.
One day someone notices something different about you…you are no longer that man anymore.
And you aren’t.
Its a process.
Something clicks from within when YOU know that you are no longer that man anymore.
The process reveals a change in your character.
When everyone around you is in reaction mode to a chaotic situation you are in peace and patience - responding in freedom - to lead and impact the environment you are in.
You ARE a new man.
Interesting to note that in scripture we are told that we have a new (Kainos) heart and yet, it is untrained.
What is our training?
Sanctification.
Mind-set shift.
Our heart is softening in spots that were once old, broken and hardened from old wounds or messages that once had authority over you….but not anymore.
It's a journey.
The journey of becoming more like Christ.
We will never BE Christ….but as the old ways in us fall away, it makes way for God to become ingrained in our hearts.
This happens from prayer, reading His Word, and learning from other men of understanding.
From men that have walked this journey out.
Proverbs 20:5 says, “The purpose of a mans heart is like deep waters and it takes a man of understanding to draw it out”.
You see you do not need to be fixed - you need to embrace more of how God has already created you to be - its all in the 'deep waters' and who is helping you draw this out?
You can be a man of understanding.
Some churches, religious people, corporations are all trying to 'fix' you.
You can STAY as a mentee....for years and not get the guidance to step up and be the man God created you to be and then impact others with your story!
With proper coaching & guidance you can become more of how God created you to be compared to a corporate structured cog.
And over time, your purpose is being revealed.
And you understand why.
Question: Do you KNOW your purpose?
If not, maybe you are mis-understood.
A man that takes on a corporate identity REMAINS mis-understood.
I have met plenty of men that loose their job, marriage, respect of their children and all of the false friendships that were in those institutions to end up alone and also lacking the guidance to progress.
Men are leaving churches because of this.
We need more men of understanding and it is revealed through guidance in navigating the deep waters.
Its a process that reveals you have strength, love and a sound mind that needs to be drawn out by a man of understanding that sees and knows of your potential.
God Himself had to convince Moses of this! (Exodus 3 & 4)
We all have blind spots that we are unaware of that keep us stuck, safe and comfortable - and these false narratives are what kills a mans heart more so than his wife, corporate job or church - that he wants to blame - more often than seeing his own plank that is lodged in his eye (Matt 7:3-5).
When you realize WHO you are - based on your Kingdom Identity in Jesus - you will find yourself leading in a way that avoids the pitfalls of false securities, false friendships and jobs that drain your spirit and soul.
You won't wait for things to happen to you - you will lead in a way that separates you from others to find others that ARE like minded, serve others well and have a sound mind living this way.
Question: do you have a sound mind?
Your answer reveals if you are that same ole man...or if you are a new man that is not like that anymore.
If you are stuck - there is a way out....I have been there myself and have coached many other men to know in their heart that they are no longer that man anymore.
Why?
We need men of understanding back in our churches, corporations and in our families.
It is so worth it.
